Health - Today we started Theme 3 in Fully Alive. We discussed many of the important systems in our body that keep us alive and healthy. Then, we discussed the Reproductive System, and how it is similar and different to the other systems in our body.
Each lesson in Theme 3, a Family Connections page will be sent home. Please use this to discuss what you are learning with your parents, and answer the questions on the page together with them.

Social Studies - We started our new major assignment - to create a Travel Brochure for one of the Provinces or Territories of Canada. There are a few important dates with this assignment:

-Dec 5th - Rough Copy should be complete and checked by Mr. Saganski
-Dec 12th - Good Copy due.

Term 1 Portfolios are coming home today! They are a collection of our work from the past Term. Please take the time to go through your portfolio with your parent/guardian, prior to 3-Way Conferences next week.
NOTE: The portfolios MUST be returned to school for your 3-Way Conference. It is recommended that you show your parents your portfolio ASAP, then return it to the class early in the week, so that you don't risk forgetting to bring it to the conference.

We had a great field trip to the Remai Art Gallery today! Our class were wonderful representatives of St. Peter School.

ELA - Today, most groups presented their Prepared Oral Readings. Fantastic work! The rest of our groups will present tomorrow.

Religion - Today we discussed Remembrance Day, an the purpose for wearing poppies next week. We brainstormed ways that we as individuals can make the world a more peaceful place. We started a task titled, "Peace Begins With Me", where we write and decorate a poppy with ways that we can bring peace into our own lives.
Spelling - Today we wrote our Week 5 Quiz. We will get our Week 6 words on Monday.
ELA - We were tasked with annotating our own copy of "In the Doghouse", and preparing to read it to our classmates, being sure to add emphasis and vary the tone of our voice to convey meaning. The assignment can be found HERE, and the story HERE. We will doing our prepared oral readings on Wednesday.
