Goal Setting - Today we worked to set Academic and Personal goals for ourselves that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely). Our goals will be displayed on our desks throughout Term 1 to remind us of our commitments, and we will reflect back on them in November.
Math - Today, we got extra practice on the skills we have covered in our Place Value unit so far. Whenever we get these practice handouts, they will be handed in so that I can check for your understanding, and see if anyone needs extra support.
Grade 5's worked on representing large numbers up to 1 million.
Grade 6's reviewed representing large numbers, and analyzing word problems with large numbers.
Complete and hand in this practice assignment for tomorrow.
Arts - We had time to work on our turtles, inspired by the work of Leah Dorion. As we prepare for our school's Metis Flag Raising ceremony this November, we will be exploring and connecting to more of the symbolism and style of Leah Dorion's paintings and stories.
We are collecting donations for cancer research this week, as we'll have our Terry Fox Walk on Friday. We'll chat more about this as a class tomorrow.
